Suggested Itinerary
For Nature Education Camp
 Day
1: Siliguri to Rocky Island campsite
Arrival at NJP station in the morning from where the students will be
taken to the campsite. Camp inauguration and campers registration. After
lunch class on environment by experts. Visit to Murti River bed in the
afternoon. Campers will participate in Treasure hunt, an adventure game.
Cultural program by local villagers in the evening.
Day 2 : Bird watching - Trek to Samsing
Morning visit to nearby forests for bird watching. Return to campsite
for breakfast. After breakfast, Trek to Samsing (1½ hours). Nature
class by experts. Return from Samsing before lunch. Nature art competition
among the campers in the afternoon. Class on jungle camping and rope knots
in the evening. Environmental movie show in the night, alternatively cultural
program by the campers.
Day 3 : River crossing - Rock climbing
Training on adventure activities including rock climbing, river crossing,
rapling etc. neat the camp site. After brief rest class on survival techniques
including fire making, shelters making etc. Campfire in the night.
Day 4: Camp dismantling and breakfast. After
breakfast return to NJP.
The itinerary is only suggestive. The actual camp schedule
is decided after consultation with concerned school / organisation.
