Day 2 Activity : Durpin DaraDeolo View Point
After breakfast, begin your full-day Kalimpong sightseeing tour.
Your first stop is Mangal Dham, a peaceful temple complex dedicated to Guru Mangal Dasji. The spacious prayer hall and landscaped surroundings make it one of the important religious landmarks of Kalimpong.
Proceed to Deolo Hills, the highest point in the town. It offers a wide view of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and the Kanchenjunga range on clear days. The Deolo grounds are open and suitable for relaxed walks or photography.
Next visit Dr. Graham’s Home, an educational institution founded in the early 1900s by Dr. John Anderson Graham. The campus features old British-era buildings and a self-contained residential school environment. It is one of Kalimpong’s most visited heritage centres.
Continue to the Army Golf Course, a well-maintained green space situated amid the hills. While entry may be restricted depending on the day, the surroundings are pleasant and scenic.
Head to Durpin Dara Hill, one of Kalimpong’s major viewpoints. From here, you can see the town, the surrounding valleys, and distant peaks. The nearby Durpin Monastery (Zang Dhok Palri Monastery) houses sacred Buddhist texts and serves as an important spiritual centre in the region.
End your sightseeing with a visit to Kalimpong’s well-known flower nurseries. The town is a major centre for the cultivation of orchids, cacti and seasonal flowers, and the nurseries are popular for plant lovers and photographers.
Return to the hotel by evening. Overnight stay in Kalimpong.
