2. Nature Walks & Offbeat Exploration

3. Breathtaking Viewpoints

Sittong is a haven for birdwatchers and photographers. The region is home to numerous Himalayan birds like the Scarlet Minivet, Rufous Sibia, and different species of sunbirds. Carry your binoculars and camera—you won’t be disappointed!

How to Reach Sittong?

By Air: Bagdogra Airport (IXB) is the nearest airport, located about 60–65 km away. From there, the drive to Sittong takes roughly two hours through Siliguri.

By Train: New Jalpaiguri (NJP) is the closest major railway station, also around 60 km from Sittong.

Road from Siliguri:
Sittong is well connected by multiple scenic routes, each offering a different flavour.

From the East, the most common approach follows the Bengal–Sikkim Highway past Sevok, after which you can take the Kalijhora or Birik road and climb the left-side hills towards Sittong.

From the West, travellers often take the Kurseong route, follow the Old Cart Road, and then descend from Bagora into the Sittong valley.

From the South, another beautiful route passes through Sukna, Rongtong, Shivkhola, and Mahaldiram before entering Sittong.

From the North, the road via Mongpu and Jogighat offers a quieter, more offbeat entry.
